The original Marianske Lazne 9-hole golf course and clubhouse were opened in 1905. It was a great achievement of the towns representatives, who had responded to numerous requests of western spa guests.
Marianske Lazne is the oldest eighteen-hole course in the Czech Republic and this also determines its character with its thick woods and small, well protected greens. The greatest hazards on this course are the woods and the bunkers.
The shortest par 4 on the course. It enables long players to attack the green with the first shot and play a potential eagle. The hole is not wide, but everyone who is capable of playing around two hundred and fifty seven metres can try for at least a birdie here.
In my opinion the absolutely most difficult hole on the course and possibly one of the most difficult in Europe. Not only due to its length, but it is also one of the narrowest holes. It doesn't allow a wood shot from the tee, because the hole is bordered by woods on both sides and the lane through the trees is very narrow.
A fairly short distance for par 5. The hole is bordered by a chestnut tree avenue all along the right side and behind it the course ends. The landing zone is very narrow, again only approximately twenty metres.
The longest par 3 on the course. This is a straight hole and access to the green is fairly simple. The right side is protected by the course boundary. There is a grassy ditch around the green. I cannot recommend otherwise than to play to land in front of the green.
